IP as Hostname in Postfix instance [CLOSED]

Hello,

Is it possible to set up a postfix 2.10 instance on IP.

I mean postfix instance hostname = ip ipv4. (like in freewebs)

Nope because your will be pointed as spammer.
hostname is used for the postfix system to send it's name during the SMTP session.
If you set an IP

postfix will do
Code: Select all
helo 99.45.12.3

instead
Code: Select all
helo smtp.domain.tld


Then it will classified as spam.
