1.5.090316: Squid cache performances (howto)

New postby admin » Sat Sep 03, 2011 2:16 pm

Many members claim that when testing Artica + Squid, performances are not really good and sometimes are very bad !!
I would like to suggest to pay attention to the "storage" behavior performance.
If your squid did not store elements, the Internet performance will be very poor....
In this case, i have developed a set of statistics in order to help you to monitor the cache performance
This feature has been added in 1.5.090316 version.

The first step it show you the performance in the front page in order to not forget this behavior.
It show you for the last hour how many datas are cached or not, and the percentage of the caching process.

When clicking on the graph, a kind of how to drive you and explain you what kind of parameters can be set in order to increase the storage behavior.

In others tabs, you can see graphs that display the caching history....
2 lines is displayed the blue one is requests that are not cached, purple one is cached request.
And your objective is to increase the purple line and decrease the blue one...
