Mirroring disk folders [CLOSED]

New postby garaujo » Tue Nov 02, 2010 3:31 pm

Hello David, i'm configuring a cluster in a client, but they use a product called Double Take that is the same of GlusterFS ... basically sync folders in server A to server B ... my problem is that i'm not sure what folders to replicate, at this moment, i`m replicating the following list:

/etc/artica-postfix
/etc/ldap
/var/spool/cyrus
/var/lib/ldap
/var/lib/mysql
/usr/share/artica-postfix
/etc/postfix

But some things dosen´t work, like aliases, and others configurations ... i make a debug process and can see that virtual.db and another files and folders are replicated, but when the sync is compleate artica interface show problems in reading the configuration, when i restart the artica console, the configuration is compiled and work again, but for example, the aliases of a user don´t appear in the configuration option ... but is in the virtual.db file ... i feel that i`m doing something wrong ... can you please recomend what folders to replicate to make a transparent artica cluster? the client want to create and configure the users, organizations and configurations from a master server, and when the server go down, double take will make the slave server to take control of IP and others things ...

Thanks a lot.

btw, i´m on the client right now .. lol

Yes, MAILBOX cluster, what i'm doing right now (and is working for the moment) is replicate this folders:

/etc/artica-postfix
/etc/ldap
/var/spool/cyrus
/var/lib/ldap
/var/lib/mysql
/usr/share/artica-postfix

And in the server B i have all services down (btw, there is some command to kill ALL artica process? i'm using /etc/init.d script, but his scripts in the STOP command run some others apps and services when stopping ... so can't have a ALL DOWN ARTICA system, i need to use killall ... there is some
Code: Select all
artica-service --force-shutdown
or similar?) when the server A come down, the server B run a script to launch crond, artica-postfix, artica-boa, postfix, mysql, etc ...

There is a better way to do this?

Greetings.

You go to the wrong way
In fact we don't care to run artica in cluster mode.
You need to turn cyrus-imap in cluster mode, that the feature is already exists

You will be able to create this kind of structure
